The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of ciprofloxacin, azithromycin and clarithromycin in the treatment of typhoid fever in typhoid induced rabbits. Specific objectives were to: 1. determine if Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi are susceptible to ciprofloxacin. 2. determine if Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi are susceptible to azithromycin. 3. determine if Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi are susceptible to clarithromycin. 4. determine which of these three antibiotics is most potent in eliminating Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi. 50 PAGES | CHAPTER 1-5
