The aim of this research is to assess the effect of abattoir activities on surface water quality in Kaduna south Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The specific objectives are as follows; (i) To identify the different types of waste generated from the abattoir and the manner in which they are disposed of. (ii) To collect and analyse water samples from different points along stream Kujere ie upstream, discharge point and downstream to determine some of itsphysical, chemical and biological parameters. (iii) To compare the result of the laboratory analysis in (ii) above with Nigerian Standard for Drinking Water Quality (NSDWQ) (iv) To make recommendations that will enhance the water quality of stream Kujere as well as protect the public health of people who depend on it.
